Birthday cake/pud for dec 25th?

my son is 10 on christmas day and every year i struggled to do a non-heavy birthday cake on christmas day.Last year i did a tower of pofiteroles with indoor sparklers all over.Does anyone have any fab ideas?? no one wants anything too heavy but i need it to be SPECIAL thanks!
